Behold, the Lamb of God descends to save His chosen race,
Immanuel, or “God with us”; the Sun of Righteousness.
His brothers couldn’t see He was the incarnate of God,
And learned teachers passed Him by, the One for whom they sought.

This humble man of Nazereth, a carpenter by trade,
Was treated as a Nazarene—with cruel contempt and hate.
And while He grew as God in man, without a sinful spot,
He preached to all men practic’lly, by working as He taught.

The time came when He left His work, according to God’s plan,
His foll’wers left their nets behind to go and fish for men.
Through all those years of ministry great miracles were wrought,
Which proved to all unbiased minds this carpenter was God.

Through difficulties, hardship, toil, and constant sacrifice,
He showed us God’s own character and how to live this life.
In uncomplaining silence, when brought to the awful tree,
His final words breathed out the love He had for you and me.

But by the vict’ry won that day against sin’s slavery,
He gave us pow’r to follow in His footsteps perfectly.
He rose again in glory to complete His heav’nly work;
How wonderful the contrast to the night of His low birth!

Behold the Lamb of God ascends, a victor o’er the grave!
This humble Man, through sacrifice, reveals His pow’r to save.
Lift up, oh gates! Be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
The King of glory enters in, enthroned forevermore.
