The Lord - Our Peace
 
1. The Lord Himself, He is our peace,
He breaks the middle wall;
The walls of strife and bitterness 
That separate us all.
He breaks them down, the man-made walls 
Of selfishness and pride,
So that His love can heal us and 
Unite us from inside.

Refrain:
He reconciles, He unifies,
He'll break and heal and build,
Create anew, make one from two, 
A vessel to be filled. 
 
2. The prejudice and jealousy, 
Suspiciousness and sin;
The artificial barriers 
That hide the wounds within.
Diseases of the human heart,
He heals, He takes away;
He puts to death the enmity, 
To make us whole today.

3. A master builder, Jesus is; 
A master breaker too;
He builds the good, removes the bad, 
Creating us anew.
Our self-defence, our strong demands, 
Our stoic unconcern;
The walls that hold our hearts in sin, 
Must break if we would learn!
