The Gospel is Power
 
1. Oh, the gospel is power from heaven,
To salvation from sin, for all those 
Who believe God can do what He's promised: 
"In the desert shall blossom the rose." 
 
2. An accused woman stood before Jesus, 
"Go your way, sin no more," He replies.
This is more than mere legal forgiveness,
It is soul-cleansing pow'r from the skies. 
 
3. He is able to keep us from falling,
And to make us without fault or blame.
In the sight of His holy commandments,
We can walk without spot, without stain. 
 
4. Sin shall not have dominion upon us;
All its power is broken and dead.
We've a life that is greater and higher,
From the Seed that has bruised Satan's head. 
 
5. Then rejoice in this present salvation,
Thanks to God for the vict'ry within!
For the weakest believer in Jesus 
Can now live ev'ry day without sin.
