The Blind Man 1. Oh once there sat a blind man, Who from his birth saw not. "Is this man a great sinner, That blindness is his lot?" So questioned they the Saviour, With patience He did say: "Not this man, nor his parents, Are guilty in this case." Refrain: We are just like this blind man, From birth we cannot see; But Jesus, He will heal us, His word will set us free. 2. Then Jesus made an ointment, From spittle and from clay, And said, "Go wash in water, And seeing, go your way." We likewise are in darkness, And wander aimlessly; But if we go to Jesus, He'll make our eyes to see. (Refrain) 3. From birth we lack our eyesight To understand God's way; We see not life and beauty, For all is dark and gray; We've trials, disappointments, That He allows to be; Like mud upon our eyelids, And after this, we see! (Refrain)
