Sabbath Canticle
 
1. Now the Sabbath day is nigh, God's rest we will embrace;
As the sun sets in the sky, the dawn of Sabbath breaks.
For God's blessing we will seek within these sacred hours,
To receive His matchless love and His creative pow'r. 

Refrain:
Stars of evening sky rejoice, 
All creatures great and small;
Lift high the anthem of our praise, 
To God who made us all. 
 
2. In the Sabbath God has placed the treasure of His love;
As we pray and seek His face, flow blessings from above.
Many vessels God employs to bring His treasure near,
Let us praise Him with one voice for all His love and care. 
(Refrain)
 
3. To the source of life and light our joyful pray'r ascends,
Mixed with righteousness and might by Jesus Christ our Friend.
Our High Priest and Advocate, the Father's glory shows,
Leading us in all God's ways, freed from our sins and woes. 
(Refrain)
 
4. So to us God's rest remains, His law is in our hearts;
He our life and strength sustains, ours is the lesser part.
Let us strive to enter in to that great rest of faith,
Put away our selfish aims and learn to know His ways!
