My Bride You Were To Be
 
1. My bride you were to be, from bondage you came free,
With arms outstretched to save, I led you through the sea.
A covenant we made, you pledged yourself to bear 
The honor of My name, in righteousness and fear.

And where, oh where, has your love gone for Me?
And what became of your peace and your joy?
With love that longed to heal you,
I called you back to walk My ways again. 
 
2. You worshipped other gods, your hearts as hard as stone;
The wilderness you trod, in ways that were your own.
In tender love I called upon you to return,
My warnings you despised, My words of love you spurned.

3. In sorrow I have mourned, and yet I cannot hide 
My hatred of your sins, your faithlessness and pride.
My love will always flow, but in the end I know 
The harvest you shall reap, is that which you have sown.
