Intercessory Prayer
 
1. Lord, teach us how to intercede,
With firm reliance how to plead;
Not to give up, but persevere,
Until we hear Your answer clear. 
 
2. You have instructed us to ask,
And not to faint, nor quit the task;
For by persistence, grows desire,
The hand of faith thus reaches high'r. 
 
3. Then let us learn to mediate,
By faith and pray'r, to work and wait;
So shall we stay destruction's hand,
And lead the lost to their homeland. 
 
4. When we have pray'd and worked Your will,
Give us the patience to be still,
And let Love work, which cannot fail 
When human pow'r will not avail.
