Elijah Was a Man Like Us
 
1. Elijah was a man like us,
He prayed that it should not rain.
He prayed again that it should rain,
And the rain did fall.
Elijah was a man of pray'r,
He never ceased until the answer came.

Prayer and faith closely allied, 
They need be studied together.
In the pray'r of faith, 
There is divine science. 
 
2. Daniel pray'd to the living God,
Pray'd three times in his upper room.
Through living faith and constant pray'r,
Hungry lion's mouths shut.
Daniel stood firm on his belief,
Ignored the king's command and trusted God.

3. Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego,
Refused to pray to gods of gold,
Were thrown into the furnace fire,
The living God saved them.
Through their pray'rs, and a living faith,
The fiery furnace never shook their faith.

4. Today God needs Elijahs;
Today God needs the Daniels;
Needs Shadrach and his faithful friends,
Men of unwav'ring faith.
Let us not give our God a rest,
Let's pray until the Holy Spirit comes.
