Bread Religion 1. The seed must be cast into the cold, dark ground, Before the new life and the fruit abound; So old carnal nature must be buried and dead, Refrain: There's much religion in a loaf of bread. There's much religion in a loaf of bread. 2. The chaff must be separated from the wheat, Before the grain is suitable to eat; So old harmful habits must be separated, 3. The grain must be ground into a wholesome flour, To bring forth goodness and the hidden pow'r; So draw out your talents to serve others instead, 4. The yeast must be mixed into the lump of dough, To give it life, to make it rise and grow; So truth, like the leaven, mix in heart and in head, 5. The bread must be baked under the fiery heat, Before it's sweet and light and good to eat; So we must have trials as the prophet has said, 6. The bread will be sold within the baker's shop, To be served on a fam'ly table-top; Soon Jesus will gather us into His homestead, Text: inspired by Ministry of Healing, p. 302
